She stands alone in darkness
One hand upraised
Supporting the rest
The other stretched out
Grasping at her own salvation

A sacrifice to be made
She cannot have both
One saves the rest

A beautiful jar, constantly pouring

The other is refuge

Strength and compassion
Flow from her words
In the depths of her eyes
Courage and love are revealed
The windows of her soul are open

Such an amazing girl
Should not have to be
An atlas of this age
Bearing the world on her shoulders
A load never meant for mortals

For behind the curtain of laughter
Hearts still break
And all false joy
